Great Crested Newts

Great Crested Newts (often referred to as gold crested newts) are strictly protected in the UK and Europe. They are classified as a European Protected Species (EPS) and protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to capture, kill, disturb, or injure them, or damage their habitat.
