Campaign stage - 30/4/26

For those that may not be aware, Crest Nicholson initially submitted an EIA Scoping Report to the Borough Council, (EIA is an Environmental Impact Assessment), this is seen as a normal pre-cursor to a formal outline planning request being submitted.

A number of residents have reviewed and investigated what we believe are shortcomings and omissions which lead us to question the integrity and validity of the EIA process carried out.

We’ve raised these concerns with the Principle Planning Officer at the Borough Council. After receiving an initial reply which in our opinion did not address the questions adequately, it came to light that he has left for undisclosed reasons.

A follow up letter is now in the hands of the Head of Planning and we are waiting for a response.

Our intention is to share this information in full, on here as soon as possible so people can read and understand the points in question and how they affect this whole process.

Additionally, we have alerted a significant number of Borough Councillors to our concerns and are soliciting their feedback.

We will continue to post updates here and links to the documentation, emails etc. being sent, so you have a transparent view of our campaign to stop this proposal.

In consideration of the upcoming local elections, we’re not expecting to post the responses until after they conclude in early May.

View the letter sent to the Councillors, to follow will be the replies and the correspondence with the planning officers.
